Intensive Summer Spanish Courses
The intensive summer course takes place during the month of July and is a 4 week course with 20 Spanish lessons and a number of optional culture classes per week.
This course is specifically aimed at students who want to learn Spanish during their summer break and who also have a specific interest in the Spanish culture. This course is arranged during the morning and, in the afternoon, apart from the number of cultural activities arranged by the university, GSS also arranges many social activities.
Content of Course
The structure of the Spanish classes for the summer course is similar to the standard and spring courses. The first two hours of class will focus on grammar – the theory and practical exercises. After a short break, there will be a class in written skills and afterwards a conversation class.
The content of each class will depend on the level, which ranges from complete beginners to advanced speakers. The aim of the optional classes is to initiate and develop the knowledge of Spain and Spanish culture in all aspects and will include themes such as:
- Spain in the 20th Century.
- Flamenco: Culture and Music.
- Keys to Spanish Contemporary Culture.
- Spanish 20th Century Drama.
- Sociological Aspects of modern day Spain.
