Intensive Semester Courses
The Intensive Semester Course is a three month program with 5 lessons per day and which is arranged in three blocks of one month.
This course is an alternative course for students looking for a more intensive program that also has less students per class and more personal attention, or for students, that due to the less flexible starting dates, are not able to participate in the Spanish Language and Culture Course.
Content of Course
The intensive course is a 5 hour per day program that has 6 possible different levels. The daily program for the intensive course includes 2 hours of Spanish language and grammar, then 2 hours of communicative practice and finally the last hour is spent on listening and reading comprehension.
The exact content depends on the level of the student, but at initial levels will include basic grammar, learning of vocabulary and basic listening exercises whereas at higher levels, classes will include the more advanced grammar, student presentation and debates on different subjects. Apart from offering more classes per week, the intensive course only has 2-7 students per class.
This means that each student has much more personal attention from the professor and will therefore learn faster. This is particularly true for conversation classes where student numbers of up to 18 people per class (as with the semester courses) means there is very little time for each student.
