Plaza de Toros Las Ventas in Madrid
Las Ventas is the name of the bullring that is located in the eastern part of Madrid. It was constructed in 1929 and it can hold up to 25.000 people at a time. The building style is Moorish. There are currently still bullfights being held here in the ring of Madrid; the most famous bullfighters are eager to do a show here. In May and June, a famous bullfighting festival is held, called the San Isidro, and every day for three weeks long, there are fights at seven o´ clock in the evening. Normally, fights are only held on Sundays and with less famous fighters. The bullring has five gates and three smaller gates, the smaller gates are used for the bull to enter the ring. The biggest door, la Puerta Grande, which is also called the ´Door of Madrid´, is the main door for the bullfighters. It is a fighters biggest dream to go through this door.
